Events to mark World Children's Day

The Department of Probation and Child Care Services has organised a series of events at national and district level to commemorate the International Children's Day which falls on October 1.

Ministry of Child Development and Women's Empowerment along with the Probation Department is launching many events to celebrate the international Children's Day with Sri Lankan Children.

The Department has decided to hold the events at the Mahanama College in Moneragala and a three-day camp from October 2-4.

About 350 children from Hambantota, Ampara, Badulla and Moneragala along with the children from other districts will participate in the camp and in other children's Day events.

Department sources said, that regional childcare probation officers have also been instructed to organise events in their areas to mark the International Children's Day.

Department of Probation and childcare services has decided to distribute a flag islandwide.
