20 LTTE cadres killed in confrontations

Twenty LTTE cadres were killed and 40 of them were injured in confrontations with the Security Forces in Kilinochchi, Mullaithivu and the Jaffna areas on Friday, according to the Defence media centre.

The centre also confirmed that 313 anti personnel mines and 17 improvised explosive devices were recovered by the Security Forces in Andalkulam, Mullaithivu along with six grenades at Navalady, Batticaloa on Friday.

In another operation one claymore mine weighing 7kgs, two anti personnel mines and a 150 metre cable were recovered at Pallamadu, Batticaloa by the Security Forces on Friday.
