Public asked to be vigilant

The Meteorology Department has advised public to be coutious during thunder storms and strong winds during the inter monsoon season.

The Department said that it expects a change in the present weather pattern during the next two months.

The Inter monsoon period begins in November. Department advises the public to be vigilant during heavy rains which could cause floods, earth slips and landslides. The public has been advised to take safety measures when driving.

The Department said all electrical items should be disconnected during thunder and stormy winds.
