Essential food in Vavuniya

Five-thousand metric tons of essential food items which are to be distributed among the displaced are in Vavuniya, said Essential Services Additional Commissioner N. P. Liyanaarachchi. He told a press conference yesterday that there is no shortage of food in the Wanni district.

He said that 50 lorries of essential goods were sent to the Wanni on Friday and that the supply of food will continue while 82,500 litres of kerosene oil were sent to the Wanni the past few days.
