All government schools will be provided computer laboratories by
2011, said Minister of Education Susil Prema Jayanth. He was addressing
a ceremony to open a computer laboratory at the Darmaraja College in
Kandy. He said by 2010 over 6,000 Government schools will be provided
computer laboratories. Electricity or solar power systems will be
provided to schools to operate the laboratories. The Minister said
teachers have been trained for the program.
