Heart valve surgery
A heart patient N.G.G. Kularatne (50) of Berala Panatara, Asirigama
is awaiting device closure for Atrial Septal Defect (ASD) at the
Institute of Cardiology, National Hospital, Colombo.
Consultant Cardiologist, Dr. V. Senaratne said that there are no
devices available at the hospital, and if the patient could provide it,
he could perform the surgery.
Kularatne, a father of two school going children has no permanent
income, and appeals to the public to help save his life.

Two year old baby Tharusha Malshan, who was suffering from biliary
atresia and a failed KASAI procedure, developed cirrhosis, before
underwent liver transplantation at the Madras Medical Mission, Chennai,
under the supervision of Dr. S. Shanmuga Bhaskar. The entire procedure
was jointly funded by the President's Fund and the Ceylinco Grameen
Credit Co. Ltd.
Baby Tharusha needs drugs for life long sustenance, with Rs. 10,000
to Rs. 15,000 needed monthly for life-long immunosuppression. His
parents appeal for financial help from kind donors to remit their

B+ kidney
Fifty-year-old of 116/4, Kohilawatte, Angoda, W. J. S. Boteju, father
of two young daughters and a son who is suffering from chromic kidney
disease for the past four years is undergoing dialysis at the National
Hospital, Colombo.
Consultant Nephrologist, Dr. Rushika Lenerolle recommends immediate
kidney transplant.
Boteju is in need of a donor with a B+kidney and also financial help
for surgery which is estimated to cost Rs. 5 to 6 lakhs.
