EDB to launch regional exhibition
The Export Development Board (EDB) launched the ruhunu Expo Gamin
Lowata regional exhibition which will be held in Hambantota, Badulla and
Polonnaruwa in nine months.
The first exhibition will be held from December 13-14 at the Suchi
National School in Hambantota.
The objectives of the program are to strengthen viable export related
operations in the region, link manufacturers with exporters, promote
export products and services,create an export culture and harness rural
skills through career guidance and entrepreneurship development.
Chairman, EDB, Anil Koswatte said developing the entrepreneurial
skills of manufacturers is one of the main aims of the exhibition.
Exports of ornamental fish, biralu lace, garments, fruits and
vegetables are some of the primary sectors that will be supported
through the event. The exhibition comprising over 100 stalls will
include seminars to educate and create awareness on export
opportunities.
Certificates will be awarded to participants of the programs
conducted in the regions and those who excelled in the export sector.
The Hambantota expo will include Galle, Matara, Ratnapura and the
Moneragala districts. |
