English teacher vacancies to be filled

The Provincial Educational Department of the Western Province will appoint English teachers to fill vacancies in the province, before the end of the year, said Chief Minister of the Western Province Reginold Cooray.

Teachers will be recruited to conduct courses for teachers in the English medium. Over 2,000 vacancies exist to teach Mathematics, English, Science and several other subjects in the English medium.

This project is intended to improve the standard of English in Government schools to the level of international schools, said the Chief Minister.
