Project to rehabilitate fish landing centres

The Ceylon Fisheries Harbour Corporation with the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) and The Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) launched a project to rehabilitate 80 fish landing centres in 15 coastal districts. The program was launched at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute yesterday. The project was launched by the Deputy Minister of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Neomal Perera. The project was funded by CIDA with a grant of five million Canadian dollars through the FAO.

The project with help enhance efficiency of fishing boats, improve the quality of life of fishermen and ensure good management of institutions.
