Lavazza increases investments in Barista Brand in Lanka
The owner of Barista Brand worldwide, Lavazza is Italy's favourite
coffee company and one of the world's leading coffee companies with a
turnover of more than Euro 125 million.
Lavazza's local shareholders, Barista Sri Lanka, are undergoing
restructuring, and are positive towards the growth of the brand and
concept in Sri Lanka. Recently, Lavazza finalised their commitment to
further invest in the Barista business in Sri Lanka. The company plans
to invest in a total revamp of the business including restructuring and
has already appointed a CEO and a very strong operating team to overlook
the development in the future.
Chairman of Barista Lanka (Pvt.) Ltd., Ajith Dias said, "My board and
I, are extremely positive towards this increase in investment since we
believe that the best place for customers to relax and enjoy the best
espresso coffee experience served in Sri Lanka is Barista.
The espresso Bars will be further strengthened by the new food line
up giving the customers another reason to visit Barista and enjoy the
total experience the brand can offer."
The company's plans include opening four new stores by end November
2008, bringing that to a total of nine Barista outlets.
The branding elements of Barista will be changed and improved to
reflect Lavazza branding; coupled with a new marketing drive to increase
awareness about the new products on offer.
