'Taking Family Business Beyond 3rd Generation'

The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCCSL) has organised a seminar on "Taking Family Business - Beyond the third Generation" on Friday, November 28 from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. at the Hotel Galadari.

Two renowned Guest Speakers from Singapore and India, Ms Michelle Tan Chian, Executive Director, UBS Bank AG, Singapore and Sri Suresh Padmanabhan, International Speaker, Financial and Management Guru, Maharashtra, India have been specially flown down for the occasion to give presentations along with our resource persons.

Sri Suresh Padmanabhan of India will speak on "Secrets of Money and Wealth Creation and Prosperity of Family Business Organisations". Dr. Travis Perera, Senior Consultant of PGIM on "Succession Strategies of Sri Lankan Family Businesses", Dr. Victor Hettigoda, Chairman, Hettigoda Group-" Employing Close Relations in Family Business", H. Ruhunu Expo '08 at Hambantota

The premier exhibition "Ruhunu Expo 08" with thematic of Gamen Lowata will be held from December 13-18 at the Tzu Chi National School, Hambantota. Ruhunu Expo'08 extends a golden opportunity for rural folks to purchase export products of high quality at a reasonable price.

Ruhunu Expo'08 is a momentous share of contribution by the EDB as a responsible partner of Hambantota Navodaya in its effort to expand the development structure in this native village. Global financial crisis

A panel discussion will be held on Thursday, November 29 at 5.30 p.m., at the Galle Face Hotel with Ms Marina Tharmaratnam, CEO-Director Union Assurance Ltd., Rajan Brito, MD Aitken Spence and Co. Ltd, Dr. Harsha de Silva, Lead Economist, Lirne Asia led by internationally recognised Chairman/Moderator Ranel Wijesinha.

The Management Club in association with the Forum of Chartered Institutes will discuss the global financial crisis and how it would affect all sectors of Sri Lanka's economy. It will be followed by an interactive discussion on what steps we could take to mitigate the effects of this impending crisis that is bound to affect all businesses.
