Huge civilian influx
The agitation brewing among the hostages against the LTTE terrorists
in the No Fire Zone (NFZ) have eventually broken the iron gates of
the LTTE’s human prison as nearly 2,857 civilians have escaped the
LTTE, yesterday. They have arrived to the 58 Division which is in
close vicinity of the NFZ.

Homeguard runs amok
Kebethigollewa Police are investigating the macabre shooting
incident where an enraged home guard shot dead his mother-in-law and
his brother-in-law following a heated altercation last week. The
dead persons have been identified as R. Indrani (54) and L. Danushka
(15), a student residing at D5 at Wahalkade.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa in view of the Sinhala Tamil New Year
came to an end on April 14 mid night, amid  LTTE launching a
vigorous campaign to stop civilians moving out of the No Fire Zone,
