Convincing 40-12 win for Kingswood

RUGBY: Kingswood College continued their unbeaten run and for the President League Under-20 Tournament when they beat St. Anthony's College by 40 points (5 goals, 1 try) to 12 points (1 goal, 1 try) win at Bogambara Stadium yesterday.

At Lemons Kingswood led 28-7. This, the first time the Randles Hill School coached by Nilufer Ibrahim missed the 50 score line. The first-half was dominated by Kingswood punching holes in the weaker Antonian defence but the losers re-grouped and played better rugby to score twice in the second-half.

For Kingswood M.L. Perera, M. Fazly, M.K. Jayasuriya, R. Weeraratne and I.B. Wickramasinghe scored tries. Skipper Weeraratne was on target on all five occasions to add the extra points for Antonians. K.S. Preris and T. Rajaguru scored and T. Bandara converted one.

Referee: Pradeep Fernando. In the junior game Antonains won 15-10.
