Two concerts to mark Jackson’s birthday?

Michael Jackson’s brothers Jermaine, Jackie, Tito and Marlon are according to sources involved in the planning process of staging two concerts to mark Jackson’s birthday on August 29. The concerts will be tribute concerts for Michael Jackson which will be staged at London’s O2 Arena.

The first will be on August 29 on Michael’s 51st birthday and the second concert is scheduled for August 30. The surviving Jackson 4 are expected to perform a medley of the Jackson 5’s greatest hits. A plan to do a tribute show was first announced at a meeting of ‘This is It’ tour cast and crew on June 27.

At that meeting, the tour director Kenny Ortega told the cast and crew that the memorial concert would be “What Jackson would have wanted”. Accordingly rehearsals will take place in Los Angeles in the first two weeks of August, and they’ll move to London the week before the concerts.
