Seminars for grade 5 scholarship students

GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), announced the launch of 'HORLICKS SMART PASS', an
initiative aimed at nurturing and preparing students who are to sit for
the Grade 5 Scholarship Examination this year. It will also offer
children who lack resources, free syllabus revision seminars across the
island.
Annually, thousands of students islandwide prepare for the Grade 5
scholarship exam with the hope of gaining access to resourceful schools,
which can offer better educational opportunities. Often for many
children, the Grade 5 scholarship is a gateway for a better future and
subsequently an improved life.
In the run up to the August 23rd Scholarship Examination, the 'HORLICKS
SMART PASS' seminars will be held in 14 key locations in the country
including Matara, Negombo, Gampaha, Batticaloa, Galle, Kurunegala,
Anuradhapura, Kegalle, Badulla, Monaragala, Nuwara Eliya, Kandy,
Kalutara and Colombo. The series of seminars which began on July 11 will
conclude on August 16.
Managing Director of GlaxoSmithKline, Sachi Thomas said, "We believe
in offering all children an equal opportunity to ensure the long-term
well-being of Sri Lanka's next generation. The Grade 5 Scholarship
examination is a very crucial academic milestone a child needs to
overcome and triumph over. The 'Horlicks Smart Pass' initiative
endeavours to help children from all walks of life especially those who
lack proper resources to face the scholarship examination with
confidence."
The revision seminars are carefully designed and conducted by a team
of renowned tutors attached to leading schools in Colombo. Each seminar
will systematically and comprehensively review the Grade 5 syllabus with
specimen questions relating to the examination being discussed as well.
Additionally, four detailed tutorial sheets will be offered in every
400g pack of Horlicks. The tutorials are in the form of questions and
answers and are complied by a team of tutors conducting the seminars.
The company hopes to continue this effort in the years to come and
ensure the well-being of children across the country. Horlicks is a
nutritional drink made from wheat, milk and malted barley and is
specially formulated to meet the needs of active and growing children.
