Construction industry to be developed

The Institute of Construction Training and Development (ICTAD)
entered into a bilateral agreement with Construction Industry
Development Council (CIDC) in India to redevelop the construction
industry in the North while developing other essential infrastructure
facilities.
ICTAD Director General J.K. Lankatilake and CDIC Director General P.R.
Suwaroop signed the agreement on behalf of two countries.
The devastated road grids, highways, buildings, houses and several
important bodies due to terrorism will be redeveloped under the "Uthuru
Wasanthaya" accelerated 180-day development project.
It is also intended to increase the national gross production in the
North while finding a solution to the unemployment problem to a
considerable level, the Ministry sources said.
Considerable attention will be paid by the Construction and
Engineering services Ministry in the resettlement process of IDPs while
developing the natural and physical resources in the North by the
Ministry, the sources added. |
