Matara Secretariat receives ISO status

Matara District Secretariat, becomes the first government department to obtain ISO 9001:2008 certification from the Sri Lanka Standards Institution. (SLSI).

The award was in recognition of its efficiency in carrying out the main functions of the Secretariat such as decentralised budget programs, Gamanaguma, Samurdhi Programs and co-ordination with all government agencies in the district.

To obtain this certification that any organisation has to prove that the top management, commitment, identified objectives are achieved, all the employees are aware about the requirements of the documented system, updating of knowledge of employees, all the activities are carried out according to the documented procedures, analyzing of data including customer feedback, proper complaints handling activities etc.

Matara District Secretariat has fulfilled all these requirements and was able to obtain this prestigious certification from SLSI.
