Yositha Rajapaksa and Navy SC in the lead

The Sri Lanka Navy who created a sensation in the 2009 local rugby season by bringing down the nine times champs high riding Kandy SC and some fancied clubs along with it's skipper Yositha Rajapakse were placed on top at the end of count number 1 in the Sunday Observer organised and Caltex Lubricants sponsored Most Popular Ruggerite and Most Popular Club competition 2009.

1. Sri Lanaka Navy 1291. 2. Kandy SC 984. 3. CR&FC 801. There were no winners among the readers in both categories of the competition as they had not attached a foil of a Caltex product in their coupons.
