Launch of Bogawantalawa distribution channel
Having a vision of aspiring to be the world's best tea growing and
marketing company, Bogawantalawa Tea Estates Plc launched their first
ever own distribution channel in the local market at the Salon Anthurium
of Hotel Galadari on the July 31, 2009.
Addressing the gathering in that colourful event, the chief guest and
the CEO of Bogawantalawa Tea Estates Plc, Sarath Fernado said
Bogawantalawa is a marketing company owning prime tea estates, probably
in the best valley for Ceylon tea, managing 14 large estates on 8000
hectares. Tea comes from the blessed and well-known Bogawantalawa valley
is full bodied, rich in aroma and flavour over the many teas available
in Sri Lankan market. He further explained that this uniqueness of
Bogawantalawa products is because of the ideal climatic conditions,
optimum elevation of 3000-5000 ft, ideal soil and terrain for tea, in
addition to the knowledge and best practices of making the high quality
tea came through generations to generations since 1869.
Head of Local Marketing Division, Nishantha Rajapakse, welcoming the
participants said that it was a great leap forward from their previous
operations which were confined to a production role and limited
distribution through other distributing companies. With this islandwide
distributor network and the young and dynamic sales team, he strongly
believed that no sooner, every Sri Lankan can feel the real 'Taste of
Ceylon Tea' of having the best.
