Vidura College - cricket champs

SPORTS TOUR: The sports tour of Bangalore by Vidura College, Colombo turned out to be a highly successful venture and the young boys emerged under 13 cricket champions.

In the under 13, cricket tournament played over 30 overs there were six teams - Bangalore International School, Best Cricket Academy Bangalore, St. Joseph's High School, St. Michael's High School, YMCA Cricket Academy and Vidura College, Colombo.Vidura College beat Best Cricket Academy by 3 wickets in the final.

Best Cricket Academy: 84 in 20 overs (M. R. Sanath 22, Vinu Prakash 18; Sarith Kurukulasooriya 6 for 18, Chamalka Peiris 2 for 20).

Vidura College: 86 for 7 wkts in 18.4 overs (Heshan Peiris 25 not out, Shamod Athulathmudali 15, Ishan Thotagamuwa 12).

Player of tournament: Sarith Kurukulasooriya of Vidura College, Colombo, Sri Lanka. Champions of tournament: Vidura College, with Best Cricket Academy as runners-up.

In table tennis the same schools that participated in cricket participated here too and Sri Lanka's Vidura College won the team event.

In swimming, Vidura College won the 4x25 metres freestyle relay and Shamod Athulathmudali came third in the 25 metres breast stroke and 4x25 metres individual medley.
