'Construct 2009' a Successful Exhibition

Sri Lanka's largest ever building and construction industry related
exhibition was held from 14th to 16th August 2009 at the Sirimavo
Bandaranaike Memorial International Exhibition Centre.
It was organised for the Nineth successive year by the National
Construction Association of Sri Lanka (NCASL) and highlights the
achievements of Sri Lanka's construction industry. 'Construct 2009' is
the largest, most influential and prestigious building and construction
Industry exhibition in the country.
It was opened by Minister of Construction and Engineering Services
Dr. Rajitha Senaratne. The Guests of Honour on this occasion were Dinesh
Gunawardena, Minister of Urban Development and Sacred Area Development,
(Prof.) G. L. Peiris, Minister of Export Development and International
Trade, P. Radhakrishnan, Deputy Minister of Vocational and Technical
Training.
Every year during the past eight years the Exhibition has continued
to grow and this year, the exhibition showcased the products and
services of over two hundred exhibitors.
Chairman of the 'Construct 2009' Exhibition Organising Committee
Priyal Wijegunawardena expressed confidence that this would be a
positive networking platform and resource centre for all construction
industry related players in the whole of the Asia Pacific region. He
said, that the main objective of this exhibition is to develop Sri
Lanka's construction industry by introducing world-class products,
services and state-of-the-art technology, especially since 'Construct
2009' has been viewed as the No 01 networking platform for all buyers
and suppliers in the industry.
