Foundation-laying for Scout H.Q. on Wednesday

The foundation-laying ceremony for a new building for the National Scout Headquarters will take place on Sept. 2 at 10.30 a.m., at 65/9, Sir Chittampalam A. Gardiner Mawatha, Colombo 2.

Urban Development and Sacred Area Development Minister, Dinesh Gunawardena will be the chief guest, on the invitation of the President of the Sri Lanka Scout Association, Prof. Nimal de Silva and the Building Committee Chairman, former Chief Commissioner, H. S. Weerakoon.The previous building was severely damaged by the airborne attack by terrorists on February 20, this year.
