BRMS to groom youth to 'world of work'

Business Resource Management Services (BRMS), a management consultancy, training and research company is geared to offer Sri Lankan youth an opportunity to undergo an intensive program which would groom them to be compatible to the world of work.

The program will be conducted by the company's career guiding arm Careerguild under the youth enrichment program.

As the first step BRMS in collaboration with the Old Boys' Association of D.S. Senanayake College, Colombo has initiated a session which will be held on September 16 at the College Alles Hall at 9.30 a.m.

Director BRMS/Careerguild, Wasantha K.B. Senanayake said unemployment and non-availability of suitable staff to man private and public sector projects are two major challengers encountered by the country.

"The problem of unemployment should be solved through the private sector. The heads of private sector organisations will maintain that every vacancy they have advertised received a good response with suitably educated persons.

However, the problem was finding persons suitably groomed for the positions," Senanayake said.

He said at national level we have this problem of graduates with no employment whereas there are many institutions desperately seeking qualified persons to fill the vacant positions.

"From the global point of view, it has been observed that the other nations in the Asian region including India have recognised the importance of having a systematic approach in guiding the youth effectively to achieve their core aspirations, and forge ahead making them compatible with their talent and exposure to the "World of Work", locally and overseas, he said.

Careerguild has approached several recognised schools to conduct this program and the response has been favourable. Further, Careerguild intends popularising this program in the outstation schools as well.

Considering that the present undergraduates would in the near future embark into the 'World of Work'. Careerguild opines that this program would indeed enrich their knowledge in the decision making process.

BRMS offer a wide range of quality services to all types of organisations, in employee training and development including management development, management services and establishment of business enterprises, foreign investment, project planning and feasibility studies.

"Our Vision is to be the centre of excellence in Management Consultancy and Services in Sri Lanka and the Mission will be to provide high quality professional Management Consultancy and Services through the adoption of innovative and modern techniques for total satisfaction of our client organisations", he added.
