PC poll endorses full support for Govt - Prof. G. L. Peiris

outcome of the Provincial Council election held in the Southern Province
has highlighted that the entire gamut of humanitarian, economic and
political issues enjoy the wholehearted support of the people of Sri

Two third majority due to people friendly policies
The highest number of preferential votes in the
Galle, Matara and Hambantotoa districts were polled by Shan Wijelal de
Silva (90,294), Hemal Gunasekera (63,323) and V. K. Indika (56,855)
respectively. Shan Wijelal de Silva will be sworn as the Chief Minister
Southern Province and V. K. Indika as a key minister.
