Film shows at Punchi Theatre
A special film show will be held at the Namel-Malini Punchi Theatre,
Colombo 8 today (Sunday) to mark its 7th anniversary. It is organised by
Tissa Nagodavithana.
Programme: 10.00 a.m. - 'Kapati Arakshakaya'; 2.00 p.m. - 'Dingiri
Menika'; 6 p.m. - 'Haara Lakshaya'.
'Savani' musical concert

A free musical concert featuring popular singers will be held at the
Elphinstone Theatre, Colombo 10 on October 30 at 6.30 p.m. to mark the
golden jubilee of senior film and radio singer Ranjani Perera. The music
will be directed by Sunil Perera and Mervyn Priyantha.
Russian literary ceremony
The Russian Centre will hold the Russian literary ceremony at the
Russian Centre premises, Colombo 7 on October 29 and 30.
The opening of the Russian Book Fair and the exhibition will be
followed by a dialogue on Russian and Sinhala literary relations. W.A.
Abeysinghe, President, Russian Literary Circle will preside. Prof. Tissa
Kariyawasam, Prof. Nina Karasnadembskaya and Dr. Micheal Fernando will
address the meeting. The chief guests will be Cultural Affairs and
National Heritage Minister Mahinda Yapa Abeywardana, Cultural Affairs
Minister Piyasiri Wijenayake and Prof. Nina Karasnadembskaya.
'Ekamath Eka Rateka' at Lido
Actor - producer - script writer, Sanath Gunatilake's maiden movie 'Ekamath
Eka Rateka' will be screened at Lido cinema, Borella from October 25 to
29 at 7 p.m. The film is based on French novelist Emile Zola's short
story 'Pour une nuit d'amour'.
It features Nirosha Perera, Sanath Gunatilake, Roshan Ravindra,
Damitha Abeyrathne, Chandani Senevirathna and many others. |
