How to be romantic with your partner

This goes more for how men can be romantic, but works for women too. If you think you’re lacking that with your partner. Men, whatever women say, they want a guy who is romantic. Now you don’t have to be cliché, and act like some cheese ball from a bad romantic comedy. Be true and meaningful.

Step 1:

Make sure you’re not so cliché.

Don’t be cliché. Don’t say every single line you’ve heard from a movie. They aren’t stupid, they want truthfulness. It’s not what you say, but how you say things is what counts. Sometimes just looking right into their eyes, smiling, and simply just saying a few simple words can go along way. Your body language is what counts the most. So if you’re not great with words, that’s okay. You don’t have to be.

Step 2:

Find the creative side in yourself

When you’re trying to do something special, let it come from your heart, not the price tag. For instance on Valentines Day, don’t get your girl anything. Instead make her a video, using variety of pictures of yourselves, with Bruce Springsteen’s Valentines Day being played along with it. This may take a lot of effort, time and dedication to get it just perfect.

To have each lyric match the picture you want to use. But it works. In fact this maybe a much bigger hit, than jewellery, flowers, or candy. Don’t believe the hype, just getting a girl something doesn’t really tell her how much you mean to them. Doing something that takes effort, and is sincere does. You don’t have to do something like this for an occasion. Surprise her or him and do it randomly.

Step 3:

Try to write a poem about them.

Hey, okay, it may seem a little cliché; I guess this goes against step number one a little bit. Well, it’s okay to be a little cliché, but you shouldn’t overdo it. Write a poem, it’s always a way to really make them bend at the knees. Keep the words simple and sweet. Make the meaning bigger.

Step 4:

Get up and dance to their favourite song.

If he or she is hinting, oh I really like this song. You’re out and about, dance with them. Even if you aren’t very good, don’t worry about it. They’ll still think it’s quite sweet and admirable. You can maybe have a fun laugh over it, too. It shows a sweet side to you, that they’ll enjoy.

Step 5:

Play a lot of romantic songs,

but good ones!

Songs by Bruce Springsteen, a poet and really, really scores points with the ladies! Not a bad guy for women to play for men, too. Since most guys like his work a lot.

Talk about these songs and why they mean a lot to you. It opens up the sensitive part about you that they’ll enjoy. Have conversations about them. If you are a good singer, sing a song to them. Write a song about them, then sing it! Just make sure you’re good at both.

Step 6:

Give them plenty of surprises.

Be spontaneous and do something when they least expect it. Keep them on their toes. For instance, you can walk in the door one day, just with her favourite flowers for no real reason. “I got these for you, because of you. That I love you and I want to show you in all ways possible how much you mean to me.” Or take them out somewhere they like a lot.

Step 7:

Make sure you pay attention to what they like.

Try to fulfil that. Say maybe he or she, likes the opera. Well get them some opera tickets and take them. Maybe they like baseball, take them to a game. Take note of their interests. Then plan a special night around those interests.

Step 8:

Make sure you’re emotional and sensitive.

This one is for the guys. Don’t be afraid to be emotional! Yes, that’s right. Don’t be afraid to cry in a romantic, or sad movie. Don’t be afraid to shed a tear in front of them in general. I know it may not feel manly, but truth be told it works. Girls dig guys who aren’t afraid to cry in front of them. That doesn’t mean ball your eyes out 24/7 with them, either.
