CRICKET: Right arm off spinner Rakitha Wimaladharma returned career best figures of eight wickets for 68 as Saracens SC snatched a close eleven run first innings lead over Sri Lanka Army SC on the second day of their SLC Premier League cricket tournament Tier A match continued at Panagoda yesterday.

Colts CC were well placed at 157 for 3 in reply to Tamil Union’s first innings total of 320 runs on the second day of their SLC Premier League cricket tournament Tier A match continued at the P. Saravanamuttu Oval yesterday.

First innings lead for Marians

Dynamic all rounder Milinda Siriwardena hit a fighting half century to give Chilaw Marians SC a good first innings lead over the SSC on the second day of their SLC Premier League cricket tournament Tier A match continued at Maitland Place yesterday.

Former Sri Lanka Youth captain Dinesh Chandimal hit a magnificent 164 runs as NCC piled up a mammoth 551 for 9 in their first innings on the second day of their SLC Premier League cricket tournament Tier A match continued at Maitland Place yesterday.

NCC: 551 for 9 decl (U. Tharanga 155, D. Chandimal 164, Y. de Silva 80, C. Wijesinghe 35, K. Perera 56 n.o., S. Boralessa 4 for 129, S. Pathirana 2 for 117).

CCC: 76 for 1 (C. Kapugedera 52).

Prasanna Jayawardene 115

Wicket keeper batsman Prasanna Jayawardena hit a superb 115 to lift Bloomfield to a formidable 336 runs in their first innings on the second day of their SLC Premier League cricket tournament Tier A match continued at Reid Avenue yesterday.
