Insurance Co. for shipping launched

To cover all aspects of risks pertaining to the shipping industry a new Sri Lankan Insurance company affiliated to a British Insurance company was launched in Sri Lanka recently. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between S.B. Resources (Pvt) Ltd and S.B. Resources of the United Kingdom was signed at a function held in Colombo recently.

Dr. Michael Parimalan and Allan Scatteregood and Torben Densagar officiated at the ceremony. SB Resources (UK) Director, Allan Scatteregood said that they were pleased to be in Sri Lanka considering the high potential of post war development of Sri Lanka. He said their company is a well experienced and seasoned financial services company and was looking at expanding in Sri Lanka utilising all its resources and expertise.

There are lots of opportunities with regard to shipping insurance in Sri Lanka, he said.
