Medical equipment for upcountry hospitals

Minister of Youth Empowerment and Socio-Economic Development and the General Secretary of the Ceylon Workers’ Congress Arumugam Thondaman gifted a large number of sophisticated hi-tech medical equipment to several hospitals in the upcountry recently.

They were provided to the estate sector by Minister of Healthcare and Nutrition Nimal Siripala de Silva.According to Minister Thondaman the difficulties faced due to shortage of proper health machinery in the plantation hospitals for the past few years have not been solved, with the new medical equipment provided by the Ministry of Health.

Minister Thondaman officially handed over the health sector instruments to the Kotagala base hospital recently.ECG machines, pulse oxymeters, mosquito nets, multipara monitors and nebulizer machines were donated to boost the plantation workers’ living standard.
