AAC partners with Douglas and Sons

Douglas and Sons (Pvt) Ltd (DSL), last week entered into a strategic
partnership with Sri Lanka's premier motoring club, the Automobile
Association of Ceylon (AAC) at a ceremony held in Colombo. DSL, Chairman
and Managing Director, Saroj Perera signed the Memorandum of
Understanding (MoU) on behalf of DSL, while President, AAC Dhammika
Attygala signed on behalf of the AAC.
Speaking on the occasion, AAC President Attygala said the main
objective of signing an MoU is to expand services to its 6000 strong
membership by providing with a 24 hour breakdown service, technical
advice and assistance, free legal defence service, discount on auto
parts and tyres and also many more benefits including emergency road
side assistance, towing facilities and the provision of education to
motorists.
"In addition, we have planned to introduce many more welfare and
recreational facilities to our members and also to provide the services
of a holiday bungalow in Nuwara Eliya." The AAC President also invited
the motoring public to be members of the AAC and receive more benefits
to be introduced in the coming months.
He further said, the AAC is an affiliate member of the Federation
International De Automobile since 1931 and the members could also
receive reciprocal benefits from nearly 160 clubs, which are spread over
120 countries. AAC, Executive official Anton Kandiah said the AAC is the
sole authority to issue international driving licences.
DSL, Chairman, Saroj Perera said his company is happy to be a partner
of the AAC and hope to provide an excellent service to the motoring
public in the country.
He also said the company will celebrate its 23rd anniversary next
month and has a 1500 strong dealer network throughout the country.
"In addition, we are the manufacturer and supplier of soft toys for
the international market and has propelled itself up the global soft toy
supply chain by specializing in an innovative range of fully organic
soft toys catering to some of the world top-notch brands including Marks
and Spencer, Harrods and Hamleys," he added.
