Korean investors seek new opportunities

Korean investors are diversifying their interests from light industries to capital and technique-centred business ventures. This is evident from the latest statistics of Korean consortiums seeking investment opportunities in Sri Lanka, in new sectors such as information and communication technology, large-scale infrastructure development projects, waste management, nuclear energy and low carbon energy apart from the traditional fields of textiles, rubber and ceramics, said Korean Ambassador in Sri Lanka, Choi Ki Chul.

The Korean Businessmen's Association (KBA) celebrates its 15th anniversary this year at a historically significant moment in Sri Lanka where a 30-year terrorist war has ended.

As a part of KBA's 15th anniversary celebrations, a leading traditional Korean dance troupe named IMCHEOM will be flown down to Sri Lanka and will perform in Colombo during the last week of this month, said former Chairman KBA, Kyung Ho Um.

The 20-member dance troupe will also perform at Pasyala.
