Purchase of books a good example- Dinamina Chief Editor

Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council has set a very good example for other
local bodies by purchasing books of senior and junior writers equally
parallel to Sabaragamuwa Provincial Literary festival, said 'Dinamina'
Chief Editor, Mahinda Abeysundara.
He was speaking at the Sabaragamuwa Literary Festival at the PC
auditorium, organised by Sabaragamuwa PC Ministry of Cultural Affairs.
Sabaragamuwa Chief Minister, Mahipala Herath and Governor Janaka
Priyantha Bandara were the chief guests. Actor-singer, Rohana Beddage
and singer Nimal Gunasekara also participated.
Abeysundara pointed out that the Sabaragamuwa PC not only hold
literary festivals of this nature yearly but also developed a uniqueness
related to other fields equally.
Sabaragamuwa Chief Minister, Mahipala Herath said there were rulers
in this country who condemned art and literature and helped to develop
the underworld and bad habits.
As a result, the Sri Lankan society declined.
When compared with the other rulers of the country the present leader
seemed a clear cut figure who admires humanity and artists, he said.
Sabaragamuwa Governor Janaka Priyantha Bandara said in the name of
Rapping' some of our groups 'rape' our classical songs . |
