Caroline Freud due in January
A well-known Family Therapist, in the U.K., and trainer on empowering
parents and communities will be in Sri Lanka for the second time, to
conduct workshops on Fundamentals of Child Psychology, purely for social
service, and to raise funds for one of her favourite projects in the
down south.
Caroline Freud works as a family therapist in a specialist unit for
traumatized children in Surrey, UK, and is the co-ordinator and trainer
on the Empowering Communities Project for the Centre for Parent and
Child support, Guys Hospital, London. She has worked in the field of
Parenting Education for over 20 years.
She has a Bsc and Msc in Psychology, and currently Caroline is
managing a project researching the impact of training parents to run
parenting courses in their communities. She has developed several
courses for professionals who work with parents such as working with
children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, non-directive
play and parenting teenagers.
She will be conducting two-day programmes for two days on
"Fundamentals of Child Psychology" in Colombo on 4/5th January and 8/9th
January in Kandy. This programme is for parents, teachers and
caregivers. All proceeds will go to empower women and livelihood -
