Elephant House supports Punarjeewa Fund
Elephant House Ice Cream recently extended its support to the 'Punarjeewa
Fund' with a contribution of Rs. 300,000 by becoming the main sponsor of
the 'Punarjeewa Heart Walk' held on October 31.
The walk which kicked off from the Roxy Cinema Wellawatta, attracted
several people along the way, and ended at the Conimara Reception Hall
in Dehiwela.
The Punarjeewa Fund was initiated by Deshabandu Deshashakthi Dr. Soma
Edirisinghe in February 2006 with the principal goal of assisting people
undergoing surgery for heart-related diseases which has helped several
people to date.
Vice President, Head of Frozen Confectionary Neil Samarasinghe said
that Elephant House Ice Cream was honoured to be associated with the
Punarjeewa Fund and thus be of assistance to thousands of needy people.
"As a responsible corporate citizen we too are aware of our consumers'
medical requirements.
This was the key idea behind the launch of Vanilla Lite, our popular
no-sugar ice cream which enables health conscious consumers to indulge
without guilt.
Elephant House Vanilla Lite Ice Cream has in fact been actively
supporting several health related programs and activities in the
country".
