Lyceum International Nugegoda Inter- International Schools U-19 basketball champs

BASKETBALL: Lyceum International School, Nugegoda retained the inter-International Schools Under-19 Basketball Championship for the Third consecutive year when they beat Colombo International School, Colombo by 91 points to 70 in the final. It was a well fought out game and both teams played an attacking game. At half-time Lyceum led 47-37 and Lyceum kept lead until the end. The outstanding player of the tourney was Rumesh Senanayake of Lyceum who was awarded the 'Goldeb Hoop' and the Most Valuable Player of the Tournament award an Angelo Jayasuriya (also Lyceum) was picked as the Most Valuable Player of the final.

In the tournament Lyceum International School (Nugegoda) beat Royal Institute in a league match by 73 points to 30 and they beat the British School in Colombo by 72 points to 44. In the quarter-finals, Lyceum International Nugegoda beat Lyceum International Wattala by 58 points to 33 and in the semi-finals, Lyceum International School Nugegoda beat Gateway College, Colombo by 73 points to 49.
