Navin, Sharya retain squash titles

Defending champions Navin Samarasinghe (Men) and Sharya Guruge
(Women) retained their squash titles at the final of the `Sunquick'
Championship at the Gymkhana Club courts yesterday.
Samarasinghe for the first time in his career defeated seasoned Saman
Tillekratne in straight sets in the
men's open competition 11-7,11-6,11-6, although he has defeated
Tillekratne in earlier competition in five setters and gave a stern
warning for next weeks national championship which begins on December
19.
Samarasinghe rattled the former national champion with some judicious
off guard drops and finished the match without taking much time.
Sharya Guruge besides her winning the women's open over Sherangi
Wijekulasuriya 11-7,11-3,11-4 also secured the under 19 girls title
defeating Gayara Jayasuriya 11-7,11-1,11-1.

11-5,11-6,11-9.Men's over 35. Lal Wickremasinghe beat C. H. Thalagala

Girls under 15: Naduni Gunawardena beat K. Methsarani 11-6,11-3,11-6.
Boys under 13: K Viduranga beat Roshendra Rajaratne
