Teams plan joint launch of 2010 season in Spain
FORMULA ONE: MONACO, Dec 12, 2009:- Formula One teams are planning to
organise a joint launch of the 2010 season in Spain at the end of
January, Nick Fry, CEO of Brawn GP, revealed on Thursday. Formula One’s
governing body, the FIA, has a plan to radically overhaul the points
system in 2010.
The plan to give points to the top ten finishers in each race will go
before the World Motor Sport Council (WMSC) for approval on Friday.
Under the news system 25 points will be awarded to each race winner, 20
for second place, 15 for third and 10 for fourth, before descending
8-6-5-3-2-1 for fifth through 10th positions.
The change has been proposed to take into account the increased field
for 2010 which will take the grid up to 26 cars. |
