JVP terror campaigns of ’71 and ’89

Ex - Deputy Minister - Chandana Kathriarachchi

JVP victims in 1987-1989 horror

JVP brutally killed innocent people including members of clergy, national and provincial political leaders, media personnel who refused to fall in line with their policies and practices, and resorted to during the years 1971 and 1989.

The gun culture and brutality for political gains were introduced to Sri Lanka by JVP in 1971.

Ven. Kitalagama Seelalankara Nayaka Thera, Ven. Walletota Pannadassi Thera, Ven. Kotikawatte Saddhatissa Nayaka Thera, Pohodderamulle Pemaloka Thera, Ex-Minister Lionel Jayatileka, veteran trade unionist, L. W. Pandita, media personalities, Thevis Guruge and Premakeerthi de Alwis were some of the victims of JVP terror campaign during the 1987-1989.

Colombo District SLFP Organizer and ex-deputy minister Chandana Katriarachchi said that nearly (20,000) twenty thousand innocent people were killed by JVP during the 1987-1989 terror period.

No doubt that JVP is not a genuine Marxist-Leninist political party.

It had proved that it is a CIA Agent which had acted throughout against the national aspirations and the national movements.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa is a true national leader.

All policies which he implemented fulfilled the national needs. Foreign powers were not happy with his national policies, he said.

Commenting on the present alliance JVP has with UNP, Kathriarachchi said that no Marxist-Leninist political party could tie up with a capitalist political party.

JVP has shown its double standards.

It is gradually alienating itself from the masses and at the end of the upcoming presidential election they may definitely go into the political oblivion, he stressed.
