Sachithra Perera and Indunil Kumara first leaders in Most Popular Contests

The voting on the 32nd Observer-Mobitel Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year Contests both All-Island and Outstation got off to a good start with good response shown from the readers picking their respective favourite cricketers.

The popular contest is organised by the Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited (ANCL) and Mobitel has come forward to sponsor it again.

Sachithra Perera of Ananda College takes the top spot in the All-Island Contest with 2,800 votes in coupon number one followed by Chathura Peiris of St.Peter’s College placed second with 2,100 votes and Nipun Karunanayake of Nalanda in third position with 1,700 votes.

In the outstation Contest, S. H. Indunil Kumara of Devapathiraja Vidyalaya, Ratgama takes the lead with 1,207 votes. Nadeera Rajaguru of Nugewela Central, Werellagama had 1,191 votes and is presently second and Malinda Samarasekera of Maris Stella third with 1,154 votes. The readers are reminded that any number of coupons can be sent for any cricketer in one envelope.The coupons will appear in the Sunday Observer, Daily News and Dinamina.
