Second win for Trinity

Trinity College, Kandy, scored their second outright win this week
when they beat Revatha Vidyalaya, Balapitiya by an innings and 83 runs
in their schools under 19 cricket tournament match concluded at the
Asgiriya stadium in Kandy yesterday.
They just managed to beat the rain which fell shortly afterward,
Revatha Vidyalayas who folded up for 83 in the first innings against the
left arm spin of Aamil Anass (6 for 14) had to score 202 runs to make
Trinity bat again and also to same the match.
But last morning they just offered token resistance and once again
were bowled out for 119 in 38.2 overs. Only Janith Chathuranga de Silva
showed. confidences and made a hard fought 57 off 48 balls with 5 fours
and 3 sixes. He put on 61 for the fifth wicket with Rohan Pitiyage (18)
and at one stage they looked like saving the match with the scoreboard
reading 103 for 4 and dark clouds were gathering in the skies.
But poor batting by the batsmen who followed saw them being dismissed
for 119 minutes before the launcheon break with six wickets falling for
16 runs.
Right arm leg spinner Akila Jayasundara was once again among the
wickets and captured the last six wickets for only 26 runs.
Heshan Wanniarachchi (114), left arm spinner Amil Anaz 6 for 14 and
Akila Jayasundera 6 for 26 were the match winners for Trinity who beat
the rain to register victory.

Revatha Vidyalaya 83 all out and 111 all out in 38.2 overs (Y. N. de
Silva 19, A. Janith Chathuranga de Silva 57, Gayan Pitiyage 18,
Chinthaka Gokula 2 for 20, Gayan Bopitiya 2 for 15, Akila Jayasundera 6
for 26).
