'Corporate Stewardship and Board Room Governance'

Today's corporate boards find themselves under pressure to demonstrate independence, accountability, and transparency. Targeting these critical issues, the Sri Lanka Institute of Directors launched a training programme on 'Corporate Stewardship and Board Room Governance' on January 21, to help directors and other senior managers and new or experienced directors, cultivate leadership and meet their complex obligations as stewards of public and private companies.

It aims to help participant directors to stay up-to-date on their legal, fiduciary and ethical responsibilities by fostering interaction among peers, experts and practitioners in the fields of business and regulations.

The programme is spread over a period of 6 months, designed in a unique and interactive manner, specifically for busy professionals. This programme is open to guests from the private and public sector as well.

Further, the individual modules will feature between five to eight resource personnel drawn from a pool of very senior, and respected, professionals, who will not only add value through their knowledge and experience but will also act as inspirational role models to participants.
