Thilan appointed group MD Overseas Realty Ceylon

ORC PLC is among the largest property owning companies in Sri Lanka, owns the largest modern office building, the World Trade Centre (WTC) at Echelon Square which stands as an icon in the skyline of the Colombo city.

ORC PLC groups' latest undertaking is the 'Havelock City' project which is a mega mix development project comprising residential and commercial space expanding over 16 acres of land in the City of Colombo. This development has won international accolades by CNBC as the best high rise residential development in Sri Lanka.

ORC PLC's Chairman, whose business links with Ceylon has been since 1950s, became Sri Lanka's largest individual foreign investor in 1991 when he invested in the WTC which was a flagship project of the BOI.

The Board of Directors of ORC PLC comprise Shing Pee Tao (Chairman), Hussain Cassim (Deputy Chairman), Dr. Mildred Tao Ong, Christopher James Edward Anthonisz, Ajit Mahendra de Silva Jayaratne, Balakumara Mahadeva, Mrs. Rohini Lettitia Nanayakkara, Melvin Yap Boh Pin. En Ping Ong, Martin Pereira and Thilan Wijesinghe are the new appointees to the Board.

Wijesinghe has been also appointed as the Group Managing Director to assume duties with effect from February 1, 2010.
