Brandix and Q&E offer 'Water in Vessels'
In the midst of the seasonal deluge of cliched standard-issue
calendars, the thoughtful, informative, and visually arresting approach
taken by Q&E Advertising towards the Brandix 2010 calendar is refreshing
and inspiring.
Entitled "Water in Vessels", the calendar is the second in a series
that began with the 2009 Brandix calendar, "Reflections of Water," and
takes a deeper look at the simple yet elegant, unassuming yet ingenious
vessels that form such a vital part of our relationship with water
beautifully crafted by Q&E's Art Director Nishantha Gammuduwatte, the
calendar represents a labour of love for Creative Director Taya Diaz,
whose bottomless thirst for Sri Lankan history and culture was given
full expression.
Capturing humble containers, structures, and utensils such as the
Kotalaya, the Pae Thatiya, and the Ura Keta, "Water in Vessels" examines
our reverential attitude towards our most precious liquid resource.
Q&E's Taya Diaz noted that the wisdom of our forefathers was
especially prescient given our current approach to managing water.
The partnership forged between Q&E Advertising and Brandix was
initiated in 2008 in order to both highlight the apparel giant's CSR
thrust of water preservation as well as to allow Q&E Advertising to
further its goal of unearthing Sri Lankan culture in its work.
