Alleged sex offence on boy

Police are looking for a German national who is alleged to have committed a sexual offence on a 12 year old boy at a guest house in Kirinda, Tissamaharama a fortnight ago, Police Media Spokesman SSP I.M. Karunaratne told the Sunday Observer.

The spokesman said the victim has logged a complaint at the Tissamaharama police station regarding the sexual assault on him last Wednesday. The matter is being investigated by the Police.

The victim, in his complaint to the police, had said a 36-year-old man from the area had taken him in to a room of the guest house where the foreigner was residing.

The foreigner had committed the offence in this room, the boy had told the police.

Meanwhile, the Police are investigating whether the suspect has left the country. The owner of the guest house has been taken into custody by the Tissamaharama police.

The boy has been warded at the Tissamaharama Hospital for a medical examination. The Tissamaharama police are conducting further inquiries into the matter.
