Heshan Unamboowe to be felicitated

SWIMMING: The Central Province Aquatic Sports Association (CEPASA) will felicitate Sri Lanka’s swimming captain at the recently concluded 11th SAF Games at Bangladesh. Heshan Unamboowe who set a Games record in the 100 metre backstroke event on Monday - February 15th in Kandy.

A motorcade with swimmers from the Kandy schools and CEPASA will start from the Kandy Municipal Car Park at 7.30 a.m. and parade through the streets of Kandy and arrive at Trinity College where he will be received by the Principal of the School, Brigadier Udaya Ariyaratne, the members of the staff and the students and taken to the college hall for re-awarding of the medals at the College Assembly.It must be recalled that Heshan Unamboowe is the holder of a large number of local records too innumerable to mention here.

But it must be mentioned that he won a Silver Medal at the 6th Asian Age Group Swimming Championship in the 100 metre backstroke event. He also broke two national records in 100 metres and 50 metres backstroke events.
