Bush ‘glad’ former president Clinton doing well

George W. Bush was “glad” to hear that fellow former US president Bill Clinton is doing well after undergoing a sudden heart operation Thursday in New York, a Bush spokesman said. “President Bush spoke to Chelsea Clinton this afternoon and was glad to hear that her father is doing well and that his spirits are high,” said David Sherzer in an email statement sent to AFP.

The 43rd US president has worked alongside Clinton to coordinate relief efforts to Haiti after a devastating earthquake hit the Caribbean nation one month ago.“President Bush looks forward to continuing to work with his friend on Haiti relief and rebuilding,” Sherzer added. “President and Mrs. Bush send their prayers for a speedy recovery.” -AFP
