Brit Awards 2010 rocks!

The recently concluded Brit Awards 2010 saw many winners rising from the ashes after having been nominated last year and winning this year.

Robbie Williams sang a medley of songs after winning the Outstanding Contribution to Music award.

Jay-Z who won Best International Male Artist and Alicia Keys performed their track Empire State of Mind.

Lily Allen finally collected her first Brit Award last night for British Female Solo Artist.

Lady Gaga emerged as the biggest winner with three gongs to her name. The 23-year-old U.S. star won Best International Female, International Album for The Fame and International Breakthrough Act. U.S. star Lady Gaga dedicated her performance to her friend, tragic fashion designer Alexander McQueen who was last week found hanged in his London flat.

Cheryl Cole made it on stage to perform a version of Fight For This Love, despite her marital problems. She shunned the red carpet ahead of the show and stayed in her dressing room all night. After arriving on stage to a standing ovation and the biggest cheer of the night, she belted out the lyrics ‘We’ve got to fight for this love’. A visibly angry Cheryl made her feelings following renewed allegations of husband Ashely’s unfaithfulness clear during a centrepiece Brits performance.

She took to the stage without her wedding ring, and after her performance, in which she appeared to be miming off-beat, she said: ‘Thank you, thank you’ as she was cheered.

The most memorable Brits moment, was a special song to mark the show’s 30th anniversary, to Spice Girls Melanie Brown and Geri Halliwell. The girlband’s 1997 performance of Who Do You Think You Are? which saw Geri wear the iconic skimpy Union Jack dress was ‘overwhelmingly’ voted as the Best Brit Performance of 30 Years by GMTV viewers.
