Voters will teach Ravi Karunanayake a good lesson - Ram

Western Province UNP Councillor C.Y.P. Ram said that he was ousted from the Colombo District UNP Nomination List by Colombo District UNP MP, Ravi Karunanayake.

Ram said that though the UNP Nomination Board and Political Affairs Committee comprising Deputy Leader Karu Jayasuriya had selected him to contest the forthcoming General Election in Colombo, Karunanayake ousted him fearing that he would poll more preferential votes.

Ram was elected to the Western Provincial Council in 2004 and 2009 with the highest number of preferential votes among the minority candidates.

Ram has appealed to all Tamil-speaking people to teach Karunanayake a good lesson that he would not forget.

Meanwhile, Ram later contacted the Sunday Observer and said that the UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe will settle the dispute between him and Ravi Karunanayake.
