CRICKET: Superb bowling performance by Josephian - medium pacer
Chathuranga Kumara (11 for 87) guided St. Joseph's College to an
outright win over Ananda College, Colombo in their inter-school under 19
cricket tournament match played at the St. Joseph's College ground,
Darley Road yesterday.
St. Joseph's College had failed to make an impact in the recent past
and their previous victory was recorded in 1930. St. Joseph's College
humbled Ananda College by innings and 77 runs to record their outright
win in after a lapse of 80 years.
St. Joseph's College scored 325 runs in their first innings and in
reply Ananda made 102 and later 146 runs in their second innings.
St. Joseph's: 325 all out (S. Samarasekara 21, E. Silva 63, C.
Jayasinghe 74, E. Kumara 74, S. Jayathilake 26, S. Perera 2 for 67, M.

helped them bundle out St. Peter's College for 209 runs in their first
innings and 270 in their second innings in the inter school under-19
cricket match which began at Bambalapitiya yesterday.
