In gratitude for your esteemed service...

Thirty-seven years of service
So precious....and invaluable....
You were not really a 'Boss'
But a 'True Leader'
Showing the correct path
Like a 'Light House'
Standing amidst the huge sea

Being a father
To many a student
And a true guide
For the fellow teachers
Sir, you deserve the praise
For steering all to victory
With one hope and determination

You say it's time
To bid goodbye, now
To your esteemed service
Though a feeling of sadness
To miss a wonderful leader

Farewell, Dear Sir
And may the good Lord
Bless and keep you
Till we meet again!

-Harshi Wijesinghe

Loneliness

Wondering and gazing in my room
With no one in sight to mourn
The days work and toil
Keep silence right throughout time

I speak to the moon
I speak to the stars
What life has been
And what life will be

The dog barks, the cat mews
At my feet they know I am alone
I pick up a stone
And throw it to the pond
It twirls and twirls
And shows my face inside
The loneliness reflects in my face
But brings a smile
To keep the day awake....

- Olivia Le Marchant

Let's go to the other side

These words Jesus did say
To the apostles that day
Preparing them for the long journey
Of life: which ends in eternity
Let's think deep of these words now
Aren't we too on a journey somehow
Ups and downs comes our way
Traffic jams and come what may
To overcome all difficulties we face
Trust and confidence in Him place
In your journey to the otherside, each day
Avoid the impediments that come your way
No turning back, no turning back, forward go
To win the goal we need so much so
Help us Mary Mother our boat to row
To the Heavenly Kingdom: The Eternal Shore

Butterflies turned fairies

Groups of many colours
In soft powder wings
Intricate patterns of shade
Flapping to the wind
There they go in search
In swift momentary flight
Searching that extra beauty
Blooms of a colour bright
They sense there fragrance
Travelling here and there
To perch on the nectar
Then be fairies somewhere
Night falls stars glitter
Wind is still, a Moon shines
In its twilight on petals
Fairies set in silver colour
Soaked in the dew
Beneath the creamy moon
Fairies begin to hum
Swaying to the breeze
In silence and in song
Spends sporadic hours
Until day light dawns
In stealth they turn
Changing their fairyselves
Taking on the colours
Fixing up their wings
Fly away to come again
As butterflies now or never
